Accidentally bought a womens bike, need advice

I have always wanted to try mountain biking and was at a local sports store. I bought a Mongoose Inland Full Suspension Mountain Bike Women. I am a man.
link to the bike: https://www.gartsports.com/product/in...entPage=family
Neither the tech or the salesperson mentioned this.
I wanted a cheaper bike to see if I wanted to pursue the sport.
What I need to know is if there are any technical reasons I should return the bike. I bought a new seat because the seat seemed a little uncomfortable. I am 5'7 225 lbs. If there are no technical reasons I will probably keep it.
Thanks

More than likely the tech didn't know.

There is very little difference between guys and girls bikes now a days (in the low to mid price range anyways) The only changes may be the general geometry of the bike (but like I mentioned very few companies make actual changes beyond colour and the name of the bike). But a simple question, is it comfortable? If so, keep it. Thats more important than a label a company uses.

The 'mens' bike at that price (the Scorch, I believe) has a different (and arguably better) design of rear suspension. You may want to test ride that model and see if you like it better, and if so, swap out for the Inland.

THis is why you always ask for a test ride at a lbs, sports stores don't allow it.

Sex change?

Kidding... I don't see why they won't exchange it unless it's damaged.

Take it back and go to a REAL bike shop where they don't sell yoga mats and basketballs. That thing would fall apart in 5 minutes on a easy trail. I'm betting there's a sticker on that bike that specifically states "Not for Off Road Use" or words to that effect. Like I said take that thing back to where you got it - it'll only get you killed.

on the link you posted the bike just before it shows a bike that says it is designed for off road use but as Raiyn said it might not do well. its $40 more. the 1 you got looks more like a unisex than a girls. the advantage to that bike is if your front fork falls off or some other major catastrophe happens you wont hit your "sensitive lower area" on the crossbar. if you do not go to a LBS or do not have a good one near by, Id suggest getting the one before that I mentioned. if you have not damaged your new bike most places will exchange with reciept too
