2010 Gear

In keeping with the spirit of Ed's 2010 Bikes thread, let's see what else is brewing for the new year for gear and components. I'll start this off. Sorry I don't have any spy shots, but Jason at Sunline tells me that he's rolling out the new Sunline chain guide at Interbike. Can't wait to see.

In the meantime, SixSixOne already has the new '10 Core Saver available. Supposed to be set up even better for the Leatt brace this year. Me likey:

^^Of course it counts ; components are fair game too. Nice to see the production Dorado back.

DT Swiss has a 2010 change up coming but it's cloaked in secrecy until Sea otter.
EX1750 wheelset

I've read they have a 1350 wheelset, and a 1550 with axel options

Double and single? Any Lutz options; or just toe-loop?

I'm not sure if I like the paint all over the stanchions. I think the shape of the lettering makes the stanchions look like they taper.

I don't really know downhill bikes and I'm not a gravity guy, but I'm thinkin' the chainguide is a winner. Would a skid plate on a DH be good idea?

So, Doug, when/what stuff will show up on your fun-wagon?

Add: I'm diggin' the Saint logostyle.

I like a spring-loaded lower idler. My Syncros guide has one - - in the form of the lower arm being a spring steel piece. But I'm really liking Jason's take on it.

There actually is an e.thirteen chain guide now that has, essentially, a skid plate (fixed lower bashguard portion that is part of the backing plate rather than attached to the crank arms). I've thought about skid plate ideas before but, really, the standard bash guard is probably the simplest, lightest solution.

That's a bit under wraps and still pending a lot of variables that haven't been determined yet. Suffice to say it will probably be a new sled with nearly-all-new bits from the ground up.

New Syncros stuff:

DS 32 rim. Patterned after the DS 28, with a higher profile and 121 grams less than the old DPS 32:

Zero-rise direct-mount stem for the Boxxer and Fox 40:

Low-pro Crux pedal:

+1. They'll continue to look decent when the graphics scratch/wear off.
