Need help with bike selection

I have decided to purchase a MB and had a couple questions.
Can someone recomend a great bike/bikes from 500-700 dollar range that will accomadate my height which is 6'7 and I weigh 255.
I've read some of the forums on here and I might as well be reading chinese. Can someone just give it to me in simple terms because the only bike components I've ever heard of is shimano.

Thanks for your help.

I will elaborate.

Your size and weight will cause you some frustration when shopping. You need an XL frame and most shops stock Mediums and Large. It's rare to find an XL or a JUMBO in stock. (Few Co. make Jumbo's)

You weight isn't too much of a concern. Just stay away from ultralightweight XC bikes.

Another recommendation is to try to test ride a 29er. Gary Fisher is making these and they are adding more bikes to the line every season. However, for $700 I still think they're too much, so consider the used market. www.fisherbikes.com (for more info on 29" wheeled mtn bikes).

I recommend these to taller riders because it makes sense to me that a tall person should have bigger wheels to be proportional. Not to say that 29ers are only for tall people, but it just makes sense to me.
