Velocity Blunt Rims

I could not find any opinions on these when doing a search, but if you check out mtbr.com people have had loads of problems with tires blowing off of these rims. Anyone have any experience with these rims on a 26" bike?.

I'm not one to speculate...or even participate...but I fear the only blunts you'll find over here are gonna be rolled and lit.

That was a real opinion and I'm not even trying to be funny or clever. It's not a terribly popular 26" mountain bike rim compared to your run-of-the-mill DT, Mavic and Sun hoops. You aren't going to get "alot" of first hand experienced knowledge in here...more Ferris Knowledge.

(though for your sake, I hope I'm wrong and they come out of the woodwork)

Are you thinking of getting the Blunts or do you already have them? Any reason you are considering them over other rims?

Width to weight ratio. I am also considering the Bontrager Dusters, a little heavier. But, closeouts on wheelsets caught my eye, and the Blunts are on one such set.

Spank Subrosa and Tweet tweet rims are down to $28 and I guarantee the tire bead won't unseat from them. A bit heavier though.

I won the wheels and did not sell them. I won them from wheel and sprocket and have been beating them up all summer. I was sceptic of there quality at first but I must say that they have proven to be very good wheels. I live in Northern Michigan and we have lots of hills with exposed roots and small rocks. The downhill sections can beat up wheels pretty good and I have not had to put a wrench to them yet they are still true and look great.

Here is some pictures from my ride yesterday 28 miles of mud, hills and rain.

Beautiful scenery.

Nice bike, too.
