Looks nasty, you got strong neck muscles? Doing above * foot drops? Ya. Not sure of the carbon 'Rating'...overkill is o.k when YOUR safety is paramount. IMO.

I doubt carbon would make it any safer, in fact, carbon shatters on impact and doesn't disperse energy as well as polycarbonate.

Still kicking.
They are fine, I will only use 661 full faced helmets.

Carbon fiber shards are SHARP!
But I doubt they'd make a helmet that would shatter and stab you on impact...that'd be just a little counter-productive

Those are very nice helmets. What actually absorbs the impact is the foam liner. The carbon shell just keeps the weight down.
Giro has a nice Mad Max that has more ventilation, but it's not carbon and weighs more.
Probably THE most sought after helmet is a Troy Lee D2 Carbon, but it's 3x the cost as the 661. Azonic is making a very nice helmet. The T-55 is pretty sweet, but heavier https://www.azonicusa.com/catalog/pro...products_id=68

If you'd like the look of a Troy Lee with out all the expense... look into a Vigor Vamoose II. It's a wonderful helmet, I almost bought one.
I ride with an Azonic T-55. The thing is an absolute feather. The best feature of it, is its weird shape makes it so you can turn your head completely... like you can without a helmet on. The visibility is wonderful, and the looks are good too. I really like mine.

formula one drivers are now using carbon fiber helmets, so im sure if they are made properly CF works just fine.

I use the 661 Full Comp. Its very light and the ventilation is great. Best part only $45 on Jensonusa.com If your head is worth more then $45 look into the others above. But if your looking for a light helmet that isn't expensive. Go with the Full Comp. (It's not made of carbon, its made of Polycarbonate!)

i've got the 661 full bravo 2, which is a little bit cheaper than the bravo. i haven't had any other fullfaces so i can't really say it's better than any other out there, but i got it for pretty cheap from bikeroom.com. it fits me pretty good and isn't too heavy. the ventilation sucks cause it doesn't have too many vents, which isn't really a big deal for me. the heat only bugs when i'm riding uphill, and even then i can just take it off and stick it in my pack for the ride up, then put it back on for the ride down.
the only other "problem" i can think of with the helmet is what bighitmaniac mentioned about the funky shape of the azonic helmet... the 661 doesn't really allow for much turning of the head to see over your shoulder. when i wanna look behind me i gotta twist my shoulders a bit to get enough of a view behind to know what's going on.
but other than these minor things, i like it just fine and would probably get another one when my current one bites the dust.

Still kicking.
I can move my head to see over my shoulders just fine, but I am probably just used to the shape.
