i got my baby back

so after 2 months of being without a mountain bike i get a phone call out of the blue. now not recognizing the phone number i let it go to voice mail, where is sat unlistened to for 3 days. the message said "hello mr. redding my name is james and i believe i have found your bike call me at ##########"

i called and he asked to verify the serial number on the frame and fork...they matched...i believe i did a back flip off the couch when i received this information. my bike!!!! my bike!!!!! this wonderful guy had found my bike.

sorry for the weird post but im just so excited to have my bike back. i just got back from bishop an hour ago and had to share the happy wonderful news with random people on the interwebs.

going to go over it with a fine tooth comb tomorrow...crossing fingers that nothing is damaged to badly.

i have had more than a few bikes/skateboards/surf boards stolen over the years that i really didnt expect to get her back.

yes i did offer a the guy a reward for finding her, but he refused to accept it. said just come back next year and go riding with him. however, since i had not eaten yet and basically jumped in the car after work to get down there i offered to buy him dinner.

so tangent...upon inspection seems the kid barely rode it after he either stole/received it. the rims are a little beat with a few gouges on what would be the rim brake surface, but then again they were beat to begin with, so looks like i might just pull the trigger and get a new set of revolution 32's from transition. the only real bad part is the scratch in the sanction of the fork...its not too deep and hopefully a little light sanding and some nail polish will clear things up there. been in the market for something with a 20mm axle anyway.
