Rubber Rock Shox

How do I remove the lower leg from an OLD set of Rock Shox? No other ID. The elastomer ones with one external 5/16 - 8mm allen screw on each shoulder. 2 fork arch screws. No other external nuts or bolts (ie the ones on everyone else's at the axle that let you remove the legs...).

Yes, I know I should just buy new shocks. These ones still work fine for the feeble mountain biking I do.

Well, skeeterbait, I'm not sure which old Rock Shox fork you have there, but...

The Rock Shox website (Click here....You know you want to!) has old user manuals archived. Hit the archive link when you get there, and maybe you can dig up the info you need.

You might also check out the angryasian.com (Click here, if you dare!). The Angry Asian knows a lot about suspension forks.

I just sent Rock Shox an email asking them for information on my shox. They didn't have the Indy C listed on their web site. They sent me a PDF of the manual the next day. Not the BEST copy but it works and now I know all about the antique shocks I have

Direct Hit! Chris McKenney at SRAM had the PDF on my email 2 hours after he arrrived at work. They are not making any money off telling me how to fix my 10 year old shocks. Oh, how I long for the day when all manufacturers give that kind of support for stuff that doesn't break...

They are also not making any parts to support your fixin, I fear. At least that's what they told me about my Indy Cs.
