Ok. Here is my delema, as of now i have a big hit comp but dont really like it any more. I went to my local bike shop and asked them wat i should get because i like to do a lot of jumps, a little downhill, a little bit of drops and i like to do cross country also from time to time. At my local bike shop i rode both the big hit expert and the enduro expert. I really liked the suspension on the big hit but it is also very heavy and i do not like that. On the enduro i also really liked the bike and the fact that is feather light. I also liked the gears and the lockout suspension and the air shock. It also seems like I might bottom it out on some drops. I was also wondering if i could swap out the rear shock on the enduro for a fox shox vanilla rc so i would have some more travel, but i am not sure if i can do this because of the frame. So my question is this, I am 5,10, 13 years old, 140 lbs and i have been riding for about 3 yrs. So should i get the enduro? bighit? or a different bike. My price range is about 2000 max. Thanks

Enduro. They are surprisingly tough and from what you described a bighit is overkill in a big way.

wat about the 2005 enduros? Does anybody kno when they will be out and how if they even are diferent from the 2004 models, also wat size do u guys think would be good for me. i rode the medium at my local bike shop and it felt good to me but i am not sure

Why didn't you like the comp?

If it's because it was heavy, jumped weired cos of suspension, didn't pedal the best (mine does)? If so, the Bighit Expert will be even worse. For that reason alone, I would go with the Enduro, and like maelstrom said, they are surprisingly strong.

Word has it that the '05 Enduro will have a 6" travel. And yes, you are one lucky guy. At 13, I could barely afford model cars.

Dang my wife wasn't happy I spent $2k on a bike, I can't imagine saying "Hey mom can you drop 2K on this bike for me?" Better yet..."Hey mom this Bigh Hit your just bought me sucks, can you drop me another 2k for a different bike?" My mom would have almosted died laughing. Then got up and kicked my a$$ for even asking.

Oh BTW get the enduro. I demoed the expert and it was "Nice".

Don't feel guilty for having money to spend on a nice bike...if I had $, I wouldn't either.

For your intended use, Enduro is the way to go, but the higher spec models (5th Element, Marzocchi 66) will most certainly be more than 2 grand.

I wish i were you. My parents wont even spend $200 on me. But anyway, i agree with everyone else. Get the enduro.

Between the 2 bikes in question, there is no question, Enduro. As for the 2005 model, I'd say the biggest difference will probably be mainly just a price increase. I personally almost bought a '03 Enduro, but opted for the '04 Haro Extreme X2. I saved over $500 and got a year newer bike with great components, along with 6" travel. There's a lot of brands out there, don't fall for the most popular just because they're the most popular. Almost all bikes ride different from each other due to frame geometry & other factors. Some can be quite "squirrely" on the trail. Definitely test ride any bike you plan to drop a couple G's on my friend....

wat about a k2 tirade 6.0 i looked at those and the reviews said it good for riding around town and stuff like that but it also has the suspension to handle to downhill stuff that i also like

Correction you ride an Enduro for XC races that's why you hate it. You're using the wrong tool for the job.

even for free ride and backcountry i do not enjoy its ride (and yes i agree totally agree wrong tool for the wrong job i just cant afford the bike i want right now lol its hard when ur 15 and only get $30 a race)

its very hard to bust an enduro.any problems seem to be sorted by spec. really quickly,no hassle.big hit is overkill,imho, too limiting.

I cant understand how you own a bighit comp and you are even THINKING about selling it and buying ANOTHER bighit.
