I've been PMing Joe asking for his permission. Would anyone else besides me be interested in a Downhill forum?

I think they tried to start a hucking forum section. Problem is once you start to divide it up so much it gets confusing, and there are less posts/threads in each section, and therefore people lose interest easily.

I dunno. I just think its another major style of mountain biking. So I thought it should have its own forum.

I don't really think this forum has been overwhelmed with downhill posts to the point where it's become unmanageable. Until then, my vote is to maintain the status quo.

Really this subforum doesn't get enough posts to warrant splitting it. I don't see how it would help. I can leave for a week and come bac and there are usually not enough posts to hit page 2...

Really if we were to split this forum, it would make more sense to split it to-
Mechanics (oh wait there is already a bicycle mechanics sub forum)
and riding/techniques

But you are still indirectly doing it. There isn't enough posts to warrant having a dh forum. To make one would really thin out the posts in mountainbiking...
and really...if you want to talk serious dh/fr...go to nsmb, pinkbike, hcor or ridemonkey. All 4 are heavily dedicated to the 'hardcore' ...

well if you want a DH forum, than we should make a freeride one, and a X-country one, and a trials one, and so on. so in the end we'll have a whole bunch of forums with like 3 people in each one... what a comunity that will be.
