Specialized P.2...small or large?

I am debating on which size would fit me best. None of the local shops have one in stock, so...

Alright, here's the rundown:

- 5'8"
- 150lbs
- 30/31"-ish inseam
- I have BMX roots.
- Currently riding a 19" Giant Iguana, which is huge for me.

Could any P.2 owners voice their opinions/experiences? I don't think my Iguana was made for what I am doing, so I'd like to upgrade before I destroy it.

Thanks!

i would say to get a large. and if u can try and get a 03 version, i think they are better. i am 5-10 and my friend has a 16 inch 03 p2 andnit is a sick hardtail

I guess what I am concearned with is the standover height...

On the large the standover height is like 29.something" and on the small is 28.something". Now, is the standover height measured closest to the headtube I wonder?

I'd like to stick with the short do to the shorter wheelbase....but if it's going to end up being freakishly small and I am going to be all cramped up on it...well.

You could get away with the short frame.

For me the P2, even in the long, is kind of a cramped bike. I've heard others say this as well. Since you're 5'8 (I'm 6'1 and gangly as an ape) you could probably ride the small though, but if you have a freakish reach like myself you may prefer the long.

definetly go with the long. if i remember right the only difference between the short and long is the top tube 15in and 18in or something like that and the wheelbase is a little different but im about your hieght and closer to 200 lbs and the long fits me perfectly and i wanted to get a short when i was looking to buy mine.... i have an 04 by the way.
