helmet camera

ok, so after over 2 years of thinking about it...

i finally ordered a helmet camera!!

the camcorder arrived last week and the helmet lens should get here in a week or so.

i am so stoked to get some video of some of my Freeride trails!!

i'll try and post something or a link at least in a few weeks!

anyone have any experience with a helmet camera or have any tips?

-nathan

No tips here as I don't have one. I'm still waiting for someone to pick up on my half-baked idea for a helmetcam and fully develop it.

Nathank...I think it great..What an opportunity to show the world your adventures...But, over here Video cams have another purpose...
Wacky drivers who dispespect cyclists...If they only knew we were videoing them... They might be more civilized.. Once a blue moon I dream of throwing a rock at them... Would not do such , I think?
But,think they would be more intimidated by video's..Heah, we could become roving stand by cops, ready to turn in the dangerously, maladjusted.

hey cyclezealot,

i actually think, for better or worse (Big Brother) the idea is not so far away...

the "half-baked" idea from Khuon is in this direction... with a "last hour" always recorded automatically to a small recording device somewhere on the bike.

for example, i think insurance companies would love to have video like the airplane "black box" to investigate crashes and such...

theoretically i could use mine as such... i would just have to start the tape before every ride... and i have 60 minutes worth. but in reality always carrying the camcorder in my backpack, charging the battery before every ride, etc. it probably won't happen...

Nathank..Considering where you ride..From the treatment and respect , I have seen for cyclists in Europe ; I would hope such defensive actions are not necessary..? Maybe in your town the number of beer halls might be a factor. ?
