Never been one to want to go back and try a climb I've dabbed on, nor enjoy long steep boring fireroad climbs, let alone trying to race up them. I do try and make technical climbing sections, but going back in the same ride to try something I dabbed on just screws up the flow more than the dab. Some of my friends like to stop and play on features, to me that ruins the flow, too. I'd rather just keep moving and ride things as I come across them or just improve on something the next time out on that trail but sometimes that's just a good time for me to pull out a camera.

I'd post some pics from such a time on a recent ride I just finally downloaded to the computer, but the manage attachments button doesn't do anything, guess that's part of the forum change? I don't think the forum changes are as user friendly as the old software, not crazy about the new look but don't think that'll change how much time I'll come in and say something...and my picture taking skills even with a decent point and shoot may not be worth having that manage attachments button working for that matter

^^ I noticed it acting hinkey too. But there is a better way: a free PhotoBucket account. They give you tons of space free, the upload is fairly fast and the pics all automatically resample to 1024 width at a thrifty pixel-count as they upload. Even gives you the [IMG] [/IMG] bracketed link for forums so all you have to do is a text paste into your post. Real handy and keeps the storage load off the BF servers.

No excuses needed...shuttling is great!

Sometimes I'll go back and redo a section I couldn't climb and clean - generally depends on how energetic I am feeling and how it will affect the flow. If I'm by myself I usually don't but if I'm in a group, particularly with slower people, I'll go for it.

Mountain biking is all about live and let live, march\ride to the beat of your own drum. Then drill the Freds and Roadies, not because we're jealous, mean or intimidated, its like teasing the cat. Its good for a laugh.

There are times that I haven't known how to take some of the comments here. But if you watch Gran Torino (its a show about real men) you understand mountain bikers better. I have noticed that things have gotten slow and FOO has been entertaining lately. I won't blame it on the format, let's just all pretend we're in a Tavern after a long ride and celebrate the adventure!
The switch over to the new software has sucked. I'm on another forum that has changed it's software/format completely, and members have just plain up and left and started a new forum with the original software that everyone liked, were used to, and wasn't broken.

The switch here has been problematic, although I can assure everyone that it is being fixed step by step.

As Ed said, stick around, things could get quite interesting. In that light, things are what you make of them. We are posting here, aren't we? Let's do something with it. Surely there's some good stuff to discuss here, like how I suck as a moderator.
Yeah Ken, its all your fault. ON the other hand, thanks for the glove and weather gear hints. Its been in the 40's lately and I been toasty. Ironclad is a great riding glove. Do they work for fly fishing?

See... look at your atitude! That's why this post is dying! Don't forget many road bikers with "gay shaven legs" are also avid mountain bikers like me. Although I do not shave my legs!

Clint Eastwood's character in Gran Torino (or Clint himself) would not be hanging out in FOO.. or pretending he's in a Tavern celebrating. Duh.

Clint's attitude is what I was referring too. They speak honestly, even to the point of appearing rude. It did look like Clint was well known at the local Pub\Tavern. Celebrating for him is cursing the commies and cheap commie rice rockets..

You and I would be all over that, you slimey, stickin grreeen moldy tree hugger!

I kinda like the new JUDGE .45 caliber and .410 shotgun all in one pistol. I think I'll start packing a couple of those in the coffee shops around town

Right.. but there is nothing honest about hanging out in FOO with pretend friends, or pretending to be at a tavern..

I didn't last long outside. steady 20-25 mph winds were a bit ridiculous. No wal-mart near here either by the time I got there I would be in shape again unlike all you old guys who have no chance.

This thread has taken quite a "rollercoaster ride".

We've gone from "this place sux"
to "let's blame the man"
to homophobia
to single vs. double planks
to climbing vs. shuttling
to re-attempting botched technical climbs
to Harry Callahan to .45/.410 vs. 44mag...where will it end?

Personally...I've always been a huge fan of the 454 Casull. If they filmed Dirty Harry movies today...that's what he'd be ballin. (that or the .50 AE or God forbid....500 S&W)
