Going from 3 sprockets to one question

I have been considering getting rid of my triple setup on my bike and going to a single front sprocket setup with a chain tensioner. I never shift out of the middle sprocket so I figure what do i need the other 2 for. I like the idea of having the chain locked onto the front sprocket. what is a good setup to buy for this conversion?

As in making it a 1x9? You can use the crankset you have for the cranks, then you just need to get a chain guide and figure out what gearing you want.

well i would guess to use something similar to the gearing of the middle sprocket but do i have to buy a single sprocket or can i use the one i have? also by only having one front sprocket will i be able to use all 9 rear sprockets then.
