Howzit Guys,

I am getting Disc Brakes on a serting site, for my front wheel, i just want to know if i will see any diffrence with the Disc Brake, compared to my V-Brakes at the moment?
The breakes i'm getting are "Shimano XT Front Hydraulic Disk Brake", only a few quid for them, can anyone give me their opions on these brakes, and wether i'd feel, see the diffrence compared to my V-brake setup at the moment.

Thanks once again. :)

well you can definately see that discs are different from v brakes and im sure that you can feel the difference in braking modulation as well.

www.mtbreview.com most of the reviews say that the shimano XT disc brakes are great brakes for the money. I haven't used them myself so I can't say from personal experience.

I recently replaced a front xt v-brake with an avid mechanical disc... one of the best upgrades I've ever made... the stopping power is awesome and the dependability is even better, no fading like v-brakes.

The XT's are great brakes upon one upgrade. The stock pads will quickly produce a weak brake and little stopping power. Upgrade to EBC Gold pads when the stock ones start suffering.

BTW, the condition deteriorates much quicker with 8" rotors over the 6".

They come with a 165mm rotor.
