Shimano LX ( 9spd rapid fire) shifters perform as well as the XT ?

I have both models. XT is noticeably smoother (VERY slightly though).

If it's properly tuned, LX will do the job well. But XT is always pimp!

Noticeably...but slightly. Sorta...markedly better...but subtly. Huge difference...a little bit.
