Fork question

I am gathering parts for a 2005 Stumpjumper FSR Pro build (my first build) and need to know what size steertube is needed for the front fork. I'm looking at some used forks that have been cut and don't want to purchase one that won't fit. Thanks in advance for your help.

That'll depend on the measurement of the head tube of your frame, the stack height of your headset, stem and any spacers you want to include (and you should allow for some fudge factor with some spacers, you can always cut it down later). Call it a fork.

I could sympathize if you grew up riding one of these, but . . .

Them's shocks - - on a fork .
