Felt NINE Comp VS Fuji Tahoe 29
I have a choice between the two bikes below. I need to make a decision soon so any help would be appreciated.
2010 - Felt - NINE Comp - $1140 http://www.feltbicycles.com/USA/2010...NINE-Comp.aspx 2009 - Fuji - Tahoe 29 - $700 http://2009.fujibikes.com/Mountain/2...hoe29Comp.aspx Thanks, -David |
Can't speak for the felt but I've got the '09 Tahoe comp and love it.

If you have the money I would probably go the Felt...better componetry. If money is tight then the Fuji. Also depends on how into riding your going to get. The more aggressive you undertake biking the more the extra money of the Felt is worth it. Are you just limited to these bikes or have you looked at others like the Specialized Rockhopper or Gary Fisher models. Gary Fisher actually has some very good entry level hardtails in this price range which are pretty decently equipped. Again, it all depends on how your going to ride in determining which would be the best deal.

Not sure if there is one available near you, but the Tahoe 29 Pro (same frame as the Comp I believe, but with full X.7 and a Tora) is closer to the Felt component-wise and might split the middle in terms of cost.

I have a Felt Six Pro and absolutely love it. Here is a pic

I ended up going with the 2009 Fuji Tahoe 29. It was a great deal and I think that it is more than enough bike for me. Tom from Main Street Bicycles in Shelbyville, Kentucky sold it to me. It was a bit of a drive from Lebanon, Ohio but it was worth it. He was amazingly helpful and just an all around good guy. I would highly recommend him if you are in the market to buy a bicycle. This being my first bike he made me up a little package of tools that I needed to be prepaid for the trail and gave me a discount on it.
I have been told by my friends that to have that quality of bike and walk away for less than $1000 much less $800 including all the extras that he threw in was a steal and I have to agree with them. I am really happy with the bike and I can't wait for the weekend to get it out and get some trail riding in on it. I have tested it out and those big tires can go over most of anything. Gotta love that 29" angle of approach :) . I figure with the money I saved I can always up grade the components if I want to, which I might do in a year or two but until then I am sure I will be more than satisfied. I also love the fact that it is black, it looks pretty bad ass. Thanks for the insight and the comments guys. See ya on the trails. -David |
There you go...now go out and ride it like you stole it. Enjoy and have fun.

I sold my '09 Tahoe Comp last week and I already miss it. Enjoy it!
