Shopping for a first dualie is hard work... but fun! I've got it down to 4 choices, thank god. Trying them all out is going to be tough because they're spread out over different counties, so I'm going to take a simpler approach.

My needs are a plush ride (for my 40-year old body) and climbing prowess. No drops or crazy stuff. I'll be using it mainly on singletrack, lots and lots of rocks and roots to rollover. The following bikes are new but older models (all in US dollars) that I think will do the trick, but i'd sure like an opinion on this.

- Gary Fisher 2008 HiFi Plus $1300
- Specialized 2008 FSR XC Pro $1500
- Gary Fisher 2009 HiFi Deluxe $2100
- Gary Fisher 2009 Roscoe 1 $2100

Which one do you think would fit the bill?

Bikes: Bike list is not a resume. Nobody cares.

Who says drops are crazy stuff?

I personally would go with the FSR; but I have an unreasonable affinity for FSRs . . . and an unreasonable aversion to Gary Fishers.
