Grips for large hands
Hey Everyone
I have larger-than-average male hands and holding my grips right now is almost like holding a pencil. uggg Looking for larger rubber grips in a 31.8 diameter. Any suggestions? Thanks |
Matter as well go overkill and recommend ODI Oury's.
If those are still too small, you matter as well get the ergonomic grips. |

Just in case you are still looking for a 31.8 diameter....both 25.4 and 31.8 bars are just the clamp area, they both share 22.2 mm control/grip diameter.

also check out the logo grips from sunline. they come in a thick and a thin version.

Thin logo grips = 28mm Thick logo grips= 33mm Big 'S' grips = 31.5mm Twisted waffle = 31mm Half-waffle = 31mm Logo grips in thin are very thin - - too small for even my relatively small hand. Probably be good for a female with average-to-small hands. Even though the thick logo grips are the largest, some complain that, because the rubber compound is so soft, they feel a bit 'squirmy' to them. Although the twisted waffles are the same diameter as the half-waffles, they will feel larger because the rubber is harder and less compliant - - they have a moto compound and were made to give more traction in wet/muddy conditions. The Big 'S' grips give up 1.5mm to the thick logo grips but have an excellent, 'sure' feel. You would have to try them out to see if they are large enough for your hand though. |
mec sells lock on grips now which come in a normal or large diameter...

I rolled Race Face Good n Evil grips for over 2 years, then switched to Lizard Skins North Shores. Either one will work VERY well for large hands.

Woohoo! bust out the mic! A quick circuit around the garage reveals the following OD's
Race Face GnE: 34mm ODI Oury: 33mm ODI Cross X: 31mm |
I've got big hands, and the Ergon GP-1s did away with my problems, and helped the wrist pressure, at the same time.

Thanks for the real-world measurements - - a good base now for comparison. [BTW, I didn't do all that measuring on the Sunlines. Jason Schippers was kind enough to pass those on to me when he was still working there.]
