Mountain Bike Camping

Hey Folks,
Has anyone done any mountain bike camping? Me and a friend are wanting to spend a few days on our bikes and hopefully not see too much in the way of roads or towns. I'm well experienced in touring, but pretty much completely unexperienced at mountain biking.
We're looking for a trail that would be something like 150-200 miles, non technical (fully loaded bikes and no suspension) and legal to bike on. Does anyone know of a trail like this somewhere in california? Am I asking too much of the world?

By fully loaded bikes I'm assuming you mean you intend to take your camping equipment on the bike? I have no doubt that people have done this but unless you're an ultralight camper this doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me.

Since you're using bikes without suspension I might see if I couldn't find a fire road in a national forest. It's legal to camp just off the roadsides and the terrain would be non-technical. I can't recommend you to anything in particular but if you look around you should be able to find something in your region.
