Which wheel first??
Which wheel should make contact with the ground after the jump first?
|
on flat, I try for both, the front fork (TALAS) absorbs a lot, at #250 I need to distribute weight as much as I can. on a down hill, I like the front to touch JUST before the rear, this was I have a smidge of steering control....but I'm sure others will disagree,

Ideally you want both. But rear is better so you don't endo.
|
if you've got a transition to land on, touch front wheel first, barely.

Does it make a difference if you're on a HT or FS?
I don't do big jumps (I'm too much of a chicken *****), but on small jumps or drop-offs I try to land both wheels at the same time or get the front down just before the rear. I feel I have worse control if the rear hits first, followed by the front slamming down while the rear suspension is rebounding. Seems smoother to get both to hit at the same time. |
i really don't like it when someone posts in a super old thread that is long gone and makes it come to the top of the list as if it were still relevant. i mean, this thread right here is two years old, and i think the guy that started it isn't even around anymore.
i think some people do it just to up their thread count, or cause they are bored at work. some people....sheesh... |
But . . . it looks like YOU were the one who dredged it up, PS.

I will say this for people who dredge up musty threads and post in them: they at least have proven that they know how to use the search function ;).
