its time to upgrade
hello! im relatively new to MTBing and im rolling on a hardtail short travel V brake trek bike (keeps me going)
but im looking to upgrade and ive got about 600-800 dollars to throw down, is it worth it to get a full suspension bike and upgrade the components later?
or should i just shell out for a good hardtail? i defiantly want disk brakes but am i wrong in thinking that a mediocre full suspension bike would be better than a alright hardtail? i mean at least i could upgrade the components on a full sus bike later. correct?

Ive done a bit more reading and ive figured out that my hardtails are better for light trailing and road stuff and full SUS are better for decent trailing so that should point me more in the direction of a full sus bike correct? given that my trek does fine for my level on what i ride?

One final question though that is actually reasonable
i weigh in at about 150 lbs and am 6'3 to 6'4 what size hardtail should i be looking for?

By my calculations, your seat tube should be an effective 19.73 ± 0.05 inches and the top tube should be an effective 23.622 ± 0.076 inches.
