Carbon Seatpost: Grease it?

Just got a new carbon seat post and I noticed that my old metal post is greased. Now I got a shim with the seatpost as well so I'm wondering if I should grease the post, the shim...........both?

No grease.

Thank God...........I hate grease and I figured with no need to worry about rusting why bother. Thanks.

I have always used a light coat even on carbon seatpost on my road bikes. They do get bound up and makes adjusting quickly on a ride a pain if there is no grease. But each person has their own theory for and not.

+1 on the friction paste

I use the FSA paste on all carbon seatposts/bikes that come through my shop. Never had an issue and I will continue to use it.
