Can I convert Disc Brake Wheels to be used on V Brake bike?

I have a Klein mountain bike which is equipped with V-Brakes. I am looking at replacing my wheels but general selection of V-Brake wheels is not too great.

Can I buy wheels that are for Disc brakes and make them work on my bike?

Yes, purchase a wheel that has the braking surface on the rim for your v-brakes and a hub with the bolt pattern for a disc brake.

You may want nicer hubs... but you get the point,

They're(discs and v-brake hubs) all spaced 135mm and 100mm. Just make sure your fork doesn't have strange stuff that might hit the disc brake bolt holes.

^Not necessarily.

Not if the frame does not have disc brake tabs on it - they are two holes about an inch or so apart on the left seat stay.

There's still more choice in rim brake wheels than there are in wheels that have rims with braking surface built on disc hubs....what are you looking for particularly? Think about building your own up, too...are your current hubs in good shape?

I read it as he wants to use V-brake still and just buy a disc hubset that can be run with v-brake rims?

Maybe the better answer is no you can't just put disc brake wheels on your v-brake frame, with the caveat that it is possible but only if the rims on those wheels are machined for v-brakes.

Oh whoops, yep, you're right.

There you go staring in the mirror at your "sculpted" body in a pro kit...just leads to delusions. Seriously. Maybe it was the snakes, though.
