What can you tell me about a SuperGo Access, Team Deore-XT

I was givfen this bike by a friend with toooo many bikes. It seems to be a fair ride from the 1990s. bikepedia shows two Supergo bikes, but neither one is this one. The 1996 posting says the frame is polished and this one is painted, pretty goofy paint job at that. but the component group is similar.

The Judy XC is a 2000 addition.

There is a Bikecology, Santa Monica sticker at the BB.

Were the people who named a Mountain Bike-SuperGo Access taken to the forest and fed to animals. Its seems reasonable.DSCN0858..jpgDSCN0859..jpgDSCN0860..jpg

Supergo was a small chain of southern California bike shops, originating in Santa Monica (CA), (may have evolved from Bikecology?). Originally owned by a gal who died, lawyer husband later took over the business, turned it into a significant etailer and ended up selling the business to Performance, who shut it down after absorbing what it wanted (and eliminated some competition). They had several in-house brands, the Weyless was another. I bought an Access bike for my sister a long time ago to get her interested in cycling, thing was a heavy beast is all I remember...

I knew the Bikinfool would have the info. Thanks for the info. This HT is 25 pounds. Not bad for a bike from the 90s, IMO.

I remember my first time in a Supergo store - - the flagship one in Santa Monica. Whole rack of closeout forks at prices to die for. It was like this whole candy store for mountain bikers.

The one in Seattle's U-Dirstrict was pretty good too until Performance took over.

I had forgotten they had grown a bit beyond socal, too....now I recall they had presence in norcal, too, think the one in Mtn View is now a Performance shop; didn't know they had expanded as far as Seattle. When I was a kid in Santa Monica Helen's was the place to go...I spent hours in that place drooling over the Schwinns and Paramounts. That was well before mountain bikes, tho...and I digress.

Thanks! Hopefully headed over to Port Angeles, WA Friday for round 3 of the NW Cup series. Never ridden PA before - - definitely my bad, since they are supposed to be awesome trails/courses.
