Panasonic Mountain Cat 3500 ?

I am looking at a bike in the paper for $40. It's a Panasonic, and the decals are badly scratched. It looks like a Mountain Cat 3500. It's in pretty decent shape, except for the flat tires, but I can't find any info on-line. It looked like it was all Shimano Ultegra.

Anyone know anything about this bike? Wheel sizes, tubing, etc?

Vincent

I thought ultegra was a road bike area component group.

Reading what you wrote the words "panasonic" and "40$" wouldn't make me to comfy if i were ripping down a trail or doing whatever on it. I'd say it's crap from your description.

panasonic made some extremely hi-end bikes during the 70's japanese bike boom and later. dont be mislead bc you may have an old panasonic television.

nolageek, id check it out if i were you. it may be something you like, whether its top of the line or bottom of the barrel.

For 40 bucks you can't go wrong.

If it isn't any good, hey, you got a good beater bike then.
