manitou the answer shox question

i have a 1997 specialized stumpjumper pro. when when i ride it down steep hills it makes a clunking noise. i have tried adjusting it, but i am not a mountain bike expert, i mostly ride fixed. i need any information about the shox i can get. the only thing i can think of is that the previous owner had it stored upside down hanging by the wheels, and that could have messed up the oil or something, idk

I have the same exact fork. Mine is leaking oil on the left side (from a rider's POV). I think our forks have 80mm of travel.

It seems like our old forks are pretty light. Most newer forks are a pound or two heavier (unless you're willing to spend $$$$$). Would it be easier for us to buy another 80mm fork?
