shoes?
I've just got myself a nice shiny pair of Shimano M520's to transition into clipless, however im wondering what kind of shoes you guys recommend. The guy at my local shop's trying to get me to go with some of the "street" style shoes/cleats, rather than the racing "molded" style.
Any recommendations?
Thanks!

My best fitting shoes (cycling or non-cycling) are my Sidis. I have the Action SRS for mountain biking.

I have the Specialized Mountain Pro...best shoes I ever owned.
I recommend against hybrid shoes unless you ride a hybrid bike or intend to do a lot of walking.(!?)
Comfortable shoes make all the difference. Make sure you find a good fit and get the best ones you can afford.

If price is no option, I personally like my Vittoria Rock's better than the Sidi Dominator's.
Pricewise though, it's hard to be Specialized. I've owned 4 pair of Spec'd Comp & Pro's w/o any complaints whatsoever.

Sidi makes some of the best stuff out there. When I was in CCS racing (sportbike stuff) I had a pair of Sidi Vertebra II's. Now that I am back to MTB I am stayin with Sidi.

I have a pair of pearl izumi vagabonds that have been great. I had a pair with a softer sole, and you definitely notice a difference in efficiency when you move from a soft soled shoe to a molded shoe.

Thanks for the replies guys!
I'm not really looking to pay over $70 or so yet. Any basic racing shoes you recommend with that price?

Ditto on the PI Vagabonds. My first pair of clipless, and they fit well with no pinched toes, hot spots, or numbness. Stiff sole, but not as stiff as higher-end shoes. Good traction off the bike.
Also, a nice clean look with three velcro straps and no laces.
My only possible mistake was buying them a bit too big. For hiking, disc golf, etc., I normally like shoes which are a bit loose fitting, especially in the toe box. These shoes are also a bit roomy in the toe box, and I notice a bit of slop when I try and improve my spin by pulling up on the pedal. A small price to pay, however, for shoes that are very comfortable otherwise.
I paid $55 at REI's Labor Day sale. I think they list for $70, putting them square in the middle of the low-end shoe market.

Just checking one more time before I buy: Vagabonds are compatible with the 520's, right? How flexible are they?
