What's this trick called?
I saw Chain Reaction 5 this weekend, and dudes were pulling (for temporary lack of a better term) kick flips. Trick is as follows: Catch air, kick the cranks backwards one half or one full revolution, catch pedals with feet, land. It looks pretty stylie when done smoothly, particularly when thrown late after an X-up or something.
Anybody know what these are called? Got any tips or pointers? I'm thinking that figuring out the kick part won't be so bad...landing chocolate foot back will be the crux, since I've never really practiced that.

i haven't been able to do one while jumping yet, but i can do them just fine while seated and just riding along . the movement is kind of similar to kickflips on skateboards... flick down on the back pedal and kick out your front foot to let the cranks spin around, try to catch them again.

Ive heard it called a kick-flip by a few BMXers, and a crankflip by many MTBers. Crankflip seems to make sense to me.

What do you mean? and why would it be the wrong forum?
And I use flats but thats becuase I prefer not to be clipped in. I like the freedom to pull my feet off for jumps and such. (emergency or trick...)
