Help to build a bike from this frame

I was given (inherited) this Giant custom modified and reinforced frame and wondered how hard it would be for me to build it up myself. I am looking for a decent start, but does not have to be the most expensive suspension , etc. Would it be best to buy parts used and bring it to a bike shop or do myself. I am pretty technical, but never built a bike. What would one suggest and what would be good to buy?
Thanks in advance.

Let's see, a Giant AC.....

RockShox Pike U-Turn.
Azonic Outlaw wheels.
Race Face crank, stem, bar.
Avid discs (mech or hyd., your choice).
X.9 drivetrain.
ODI grips.

Build it yourself, until you just CAN'T; that point is different for everybody. Remember, most parts/components come with some sort of installation instructions, you may find some hint that will get you over a hurdle.

Outlaws a definite; Race Face crank like a Deus Limited; disc brakes a must; drivetrain.......Hmmmmm, either a Shimano system or a SRAM system. Everyone is different and remember, builds are dictated upon funds! As far as a fork........I am a big Marzocchi fan. But that is personal taste as well. Good luck.

Considering you need a rear shock, it's going to cost a small fortune to build that frame. You'd almost be better off buying a complete bike off of bikesdirect and swapping the parts or sell that frame for whatever you can get for it.

I wonder what the frame is worth to sell it..maybe an option.
