hi, well recently me and my mate Josh have been building a road gap and found some hucks down at my old primary school. We've known about them for a while but never actually checked them out, wo when we finally did we noticed that they dont seem so hard, we have 5 hucks marked out and more to come but im just curious as to weather they are decent sized.

The first is also a step-up about 3ft. The second is about the same maybe a little bigger but you have to clear a root so about a 1ft gap. 3rd is about 4 - 4.5ft you have to gap about 1ft over another root and wip it to land straight cause u come in on an angle. Then we have the 4th named j-dog after my mate who did it first its a straight huck absolutly no run up, simple roll in and pull back about a 6.5 ft huck but if u roll in too fast u land over shoot the down ramp and land on the flat about 8-9 ft. the last huck is NO# 5 about 7.5-8 ft, like the other one simple roll in to it and pull back but you have to wip your bike in to the down ramp to hit it smoothly or ur bike will fly out from under you. Oh yer the 2nd and 3rd hucks have the worst run up about 2 meters.

We also built a gap in the local bush it started out as a 8ft gap. It was too simple so we moved it back to about 12ft a little hard but easy enough to clear, and as of today we have moved it to 22ft we are getting about 18-19ft. We should clear it by sunday.

So what do u guys think of my local hucks and gap are they a fair size? Oh and by the way me and my mate Josh both run hardtails i run a Avanti hotdog with 02 Z.1 drop-off's and my mate is running a specialised p2 with drop-off triple's.I'll try and get picy's but i dont have a camera at the moment.

p.s. All of the hucks were made in the last week and we haven't crashed any except for caseing the 2nd and 3rd (we didn't relize we had to gap them)

Maelstrom 

1 - stepups - almost never hard. The landing is usually smooth, the only thing that hurts is if you misjudge speed.

2 - Still not big, but definately lets you work on the fundamentals of going across and up.

3 - thats getting fun. BTW its called a hip when you have to whip your bike to match the landing

4 - 6.5 ft is good as well.

5 - even better

Nice work...the 1st 2 seem kind of pointless and just sound like big bumps in a trail to me. But the last 3 sound like great starts. To bad these aren't on trails. I don't tend to huck for the sake of hucking.

BTW....I FREAKING LOVE FOAMY.

yer the 1st 2 are kinda pointless and it would be good on some of the trails around here but recently whatever I've been building on trials or where ever gets torn down by squids and arseholes. Pointless yes but it gets u pumped if your up for something and need a warm up.

p.s. we're building no#6 its about 9ft

I love the flow of stepups and step downs. On trails there are lots of fun to pump and get more speed.
