Great ride!

Yesterday VosBike and I headed out to some great trails. They weren't very long, but great fun. Lots of good climbs and descents, fast singletrack, some technical stuff... just great fun.

I had the best endo ever... resulting from an ill-fated hop of a rather tall log. My rear tire came down hard on the log, and rocketed me off my seat and over the handlebars. I landed square on my forehead. My first thought was "I LOVE my helmet!" then I relized I was in searing pain. *shrug*

Somehow my seat was brutally mangled. It was bent very sharply to the right. How this happened, I do not know. I had Vos hold the bike while I muscled it back into shape, and we carried on.

Vos then took a nasty crash, and smashed his kneecap onto a fallen log. He had hit the same knee a day before in another crash. Poor fellow.

We didn't encounter a single unleashed dog I might add!

Well I'm out, see ya'll later!

Yesterday I was supposed to ride all morning long. I had planned to hit the trails with 2 or 3 buddies. We were all packed and ready to go when the weather report came in. Come on guys it's ONLY a Hurricane, let's go! What do you mean, "NO!"? It's only blowing a little and the rains not too much (70 mph gusts and 6" to 8"). Geez you guys are wimps. The trails are only under 4 to 6 feet of water.

I hate wimpy riding buddies almost as much as Hurricanes!!!!

Our trails are UNDERWATER! I haven't been off road in two months!!!!!

I had to get a CX bike just to curb my hunger!

Why do we live here? Good question. I think mostly it has to do with Jan., Feb., and March!

As early as Nov. and as late as May are INCREDIBLE for riding. Great temps, low humidity and not a lot of people on the trails!

Ahh...I always wondered. Cause I think every year I see pictures of cows flying through the sky...

Not to make light of a very serious situation down there. I wish you all the best and hope things end after this last one so people can start putting their lives back together.
