How much is a Rockhopper worth?

(this may belong is ss/fg)
I have an 07 rockhopper. Its a 15 inch frame original parts except it has forte terramax wheels, tektro IO/mech discs, and Forte brake levers. It is a singlespeed. Im gonna have a hard time selling it (due to small frame size and its a ss) but getting anything is better than nothing. I was wondering what to ask. I realize a ss is worth less. The frame is pretty dinged up on the drive side where the chain kept slapping the frame. It also has a couple nicks here and there. Is $150 fair? or lower? I want to start out high so I can come down.

start at 300 not 150 lol. that would go for 250 easy were im at.

oh. dang. I didnt think it was worth that much at all. Looks like a new cross frame is in my near future.

It will take a little longer to sell because of the size but there's always a guy who wants to get his wife into mountain biking & goes to craigslist for a nice but inexpensive first bike for her to try out. Put a chain guard on it to prevent further damage, but JL is right about the price. $250 easy down here (granted we don't have a huge mountain biking scene in GA, so less competition means higher prices). Just start at $300 & take whatever you think is fair. You'll get more than you expected even if you get low-balled, so it's a no-lose situation.

ok. I dont have a bash guard though. I need like 3 for all my other machines.

Mine is an '06 medium frame that was $550 new... If the bike is in good condition, start your price at about 50% of new (Say, $300 to $275) and work your way up or down from there...

When Sam said chainguard, I'm pretty sure he meant a chainstay protector around the stay to protect against chainslap. An old tube cut, wrapped around the chainstay, and ziptied will do.
