Just when I thought I was done shopping! Intense falling apart??
I had decided earlier tonight that the Intense Spider XVP was going to be my next frameset. Then, looking online, I stumble onto this Review site and everyone says their bikes are falling apart! Has anyone heard of this problem? I noticed that some say the bike has been pefectly fine was it fixed for the 04's? Should I just get a blur? I really wanted this frame but now i am nervous
Thanks,
Ross

I heard of the problems, but I've also understand they've remedied it. I've e-mailed Bobby Vore regarding my Uzzi and have had a good relationship with them. I am impressed with the way they did handle the problem by have Jeff Steber actually speak personally with the owner's of the problem frames.
I wouldn't let this problem hold you back from one of the best racing XC bikes available. Just make sure you get a new '04 or '05.

Avoid the Intense bikes. We've sold a few and have seen 100% failure rate. I'd shy away from the Blur too. I rode one for a year and a half. I rode the bike a lot, on a lot of different trails. It just wasn't all that. Too many moving parts. Not an inspired climber. And it certainly did not reward out of the saddle efforts, either while climbing or in technical.
I think the whole VPP thing is being rendered re-obsolete by SPV/propedal shocks. My Yeti 575 weighs less than the Blur did, has less moving parts, climbs better and has almost 2" more rear wheel travel.
I also have a Titus racer-x 100, which is about the best built, most efficient xc race bike I've ever been on.
This is of course one person's opinion, but it is a considered opinion.

Still kicking.
Ever think that the reason behind them failing is the fact these people are misusing the mentioned bikes?

100%
If it were some, or half, maybe. But that rate of attrition cannot be blamed on the riders.

From what I've heard, it's mostly in the pivots. It seems, from what I've read, that far fewer people are having the same problem in the Santa Cruz Blur.
