Buying used trek 4500

Hi, I am planning to buy MTB hardtail. The 2010 versions of 4300 and 4500 E trek cost 423
and 748 USD. I saw an used Trek 4500 D 2009 model which has been used for 400 USD approximately. The 2009 trek 4500 has 8 speed in rear while 2010 model has 9 speed in rear derailleur. Will this make a lot of difference?

A new 4500 is outside my budget. Is it a good idea to buy an used trek 4500 instead of new 4300? Thanks in advance. I am in India

Regards
Sanjay

Hi,
I am getting the cycles locally. I am just not sure if its a good idea buying an used cycle and would appreciate any inputs / suggestions. I have read bit on the specs , but dont have much information on 2009 trek 4500 vs 2010/2011 trek 4300 in terms of the components being better.

I don't think 8 speed vs. 9 speed will make much difference to you.

As far as buying a used, certainly not a problem by itself. Heck all my bikes are used. If it's in good condition, I would consider it.
