Check the high price for an old Ritchey, and a better deal.

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...107019387&rd=1 freakin' Grand for a 1981/1982 bike..people are nutz. My Ritchey is way ill wicked compared, I paid $150.
https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
I'd maybe check back as the auction ended, no idea why not a Ritch fork.
Solid, I already got- I recommend the ride tho-.

Expensive, yes, but that bike is mint and a real chunk of cycling history - it SHOULD be in a museum of some kind .

Maybe...looks generic to me, I was surprised at the price, guess a testimony to x- Ritchey riders who wanna get that ol'school ride. ( Dumb cash, more and you get new, not stupid cash, maybe 2000$ for new bike.)
The geomety has no slack, it's pretty mucha flatlander bike. No important upgrades....
I've only personal, seen one other R bike, Ultra..looked o.k, not FAT, the race geometry is what is desirable IMO other than traditional frame, i've an inclined frame from '90.
Still no werd from ' theinfoguy' @ Ritchey- unless Tom looks at the scans, no chance I'll ever know what mofo bike I ride.
Somebody....watch the bids on the second, if low, seller legit?, huzza wuzza, build an XC outta that.
https://www.oldmountainbikes.com/bikes/ Check P-series 9009. Nice.

That's the whole point, no upgrades. If you went back in time to the dawn of mountain biking, waaay back in the day, that is the bike you would see !

I guess. I'm into the frames, my bike came with little Ritchey components, that bike has none.
I'd go for ebay post 2 and do a $$ upgrade and make a bike that has modern components, ride.
I'm a retro-neophyle . You can find P-23 around. Never real cheap, 200-250 U.S. they were re-produced later,
was the original 91-93 Norba- you don't want an old racer! Noodles! A later issue would be ..o.k

I found one for 150$. Bike.
Had a rear Mavic w\ DT Swiss spoke.
The Ritchey fork is around $150 to order into a lbs.?
The Yeti fork is in 'cause the Ritchey fork was probably pulled for racing or sale.

I think you're all missing my point, the first bike is a historic bike, exactly as it was when it was made - a collector's piece, if you will. The second one is a good frame but it isn't 'original'. It will make a great bike but other than that it isn't of much value.
It's like if you found an absolutely mint original Shelby Cobra, you wouldn't go 'Hmmm, I thing I'll put some 20" chrome rims on, change the brakes for modern anti-lock brakes and put a modern V6 in it', you'd go 'Wow, an original Cobra, nice to drive but it would be great in a museum of early American muscle cars'.
Rant over .

$1,815.00 is a NEW Ritchey Niti fully outfitted. I understand the cycling history.
$1,815.00 and I'm telling the company I want custom purple metalflake paint job.
I REALLY like the guys rides, but I want a new one, not 2 grand of 'history' and developement that is verging on obsolete (components).
I'd go $300 used frame, and someday will drop $800 for a Niti, the only mtb frame he makes now.

Boss 429 Hemi. I like the 427 Cobra Jet too. Wish I had one on blocks in my livingroom to play with.

I want to ride my bike, not hang it on a wall, that is a waste of the time spent making it. I rode my Ritchey stock for a few months then started mod'g it.
Now its sick, ill, mackin', packin' ready for snackin'. I like the LOOK of centerpull brakes, I just hate to use them.
That's just an old bike, I made a sportsbike outta mine. Same as a stock engine, no Hemi? bored? Ha, car joke...You make it faster by mod'g the engine.
Perhaps i'm a little crass.
( I just got a car...SHHHHHH!! oh, that was loud. Haven't driven for years. Bavarian Motor Works, old 320I.
yes, i'm gonna trick it out...sheeesh, wheelwell flares, forced air intake....A BIKE RACK! whoops, getting excited..)

Jeff,
Not sure if you remember the Breezer frame that I sold on ebay back a few months ago. The buyer now has it for sale on ebay. I'll cringe if it goes for much more than $250. I think he paid $180 or so.

Here's my original thread on BF about the sale...

I missed it totally, too big for me...that is a nice lookin' bike.
Sorry you had to let it go.
I'd ridden a few old chromo's and newer Alu, 'till i got my Ritchey I had no idea what a HQ frameworks can do.
Got me head over heels into cycling fer sure.
