Nashbar bike out in the world
Finally have my Nashbar framed MTB sorted out. My first frame build. It's a decent bike, but the project went over budget. Parts from my old bike didn't fit or were in worse shape than I realized. Could have bought a complete bike off Craigslist for about the same money with careful shopping. No matter, this is the bike that I wanted.
The fork is a Nashbar rigid carbon fiber fork. Haven't had the chance to really take it out on trails, but it works well on the street & the light trails so far. Waiting for my disc brake set to show up. Might build a set of 650b rims for street use. The chainline is not right. Gotta replace the bottom bracket with a narrower one. And my old twist grip shifters are showing their age.
I used the 20" frame. My old 2005 Hardrock frame was a 19" that never felt right. The top tube length on the Hardrock was about 1"-1.5" longer. Made for an awkward ride. I'd do it again. Forgot how good a full rigid bike can be for all-around use.

Looks like a winner. How do you like the Fork? I was thinking of getting one for my Scott for Street use.

For street use, the rigid fork works great. Never liked the feel of a suspension fork except on trails. I had a steel fork of unknown origin that I used for a while. Weighed way more than the frame.

What kind of crankset is that? Does it have a chainguard? What is your pant inseam length?
