Ok I just got my new Haro Escape 8.1 mountain bike today it rides very very smooth it Hayes brakes, and Shimano shifter (not posotive whitch one), and a Marzocchi MZ Comp front fork. It does very good endos brakes lock up quickly and when I hit a decent sized jump the front shocks make it feel like the whole bike is landing smoothly (landing flat on both wheels, and it has no rear shocks). Its my first mountain bike and I dont know too much about like whats good and whats not so great but I think this bike is very very very good. I personally would give it a 5 out of 5.

Sounds like you are enjoying it so far, and thats what counts more than anything.
Your bike would probably be classified as a mid level bike, very good for using and abusing!
Have fun on it and let us know how it is on the trails!

Alright I will keep you guys updated and what not and when I get pics I'll post em. The bike does some good endos, and wheelies, and it absolutly moves when you put it in the higher gear, and its pretty light.

You will find the more you ride, the more you'll get about the "feel" of the fork.It feels good until you ride a Z.1 or a Fox Vannila. That comes with time, right now if your havin' fun that's what it's all about. So go out and ride like you stole it.

Nice bike, very strong frame, you wont destroy that in a hurry. The only thing I say add soon to it is a bash plate, then its good to go and trash so you dont have to worry about bent cogs.

Well I went for a pretty good ride today with a friend and its very light I can J-hop better on this mtb than I can on my bmx bike which I've been riding for about 3 years(not including my other bmx bikes next month will be my 8th "anaversery" for riding bmx). The brakes are exceptonally good I can endo pretty good and do a little bit of a nose wheelie flipped over doing one of them today. Its good on jumps as I have already mentioned. I let my friend ride it and he agreed with me that it rides really smooth. I Would deffinetly recomend this for a first mountain bike and its not too pricey compared to like the Demo 9. Like I said I would give it a 5 out of five even though its only my first mountain bike. Oh yea FOAMY OWNS ALL!

Yea, she does'nt mind that I do stuff like that (then again she does), but shes used to me going home and be like "MOM!! check out these pics of stuff I did today!!". Shes gotten used to it over the years between me and my brother (mostly my brother). She does get worried but she know I'm smart about being stupid. She knows that I'm a pretty good rider.
