Need some friendly reviews on a Norco Titan

hey guys, well a friend of mine is looking into purchasing a norco titan in the next few days/week, i've never tried the bike before so im not to sure about it, how is it quality wise with other bikes its cost, belive on there site its $340can and in our lbs its on sale for $299, hes not gona to much intense stuff on it, maybe a few bunny hops here and there once he learns to raise the rear tire, so its more of some novice downhill and just trucking through some dirt and whatever bad we can find type of bike were going for,

oh, and www.mtbr.com didnt have any reviews on the bike so thats why i came and asked here

For $300 tell him to get a hardtail. It'll be lighter and have a better component spec. than a FS bike at that price range.

I don't trust dual suspension bikes under a grand unless they come from Specialized and even their cheap full susser is $800

ya, thats the first thing that came to my mind, the fact that its a full suspension for 300,

see, these 2 bikes (both norco) are $340-350

https://www.norco.com/bikes/2004bikes/titan.htm the titan, which is the full suspension
https://www.norco.com/bikes/2004bikes/mountaineer.htm and the mountaineer which is a hardtail

the titan i belive is made of steel while the mountaineer is made from aluminium

any ideas on how much of a weight diffrence that could be? think my chaos weights in around 36lbs with everything on it, and its made of 7005 aluminium, while this full suspension is made of steel
