Opinions on Ferrari cx60

I can get one of these very cheap! Is this a good bike? I have a entry level Giant with no suspension. I spent about 200 on it several years ago. Last year I rode it about 5 or 10 miles every day. I'd like to get out to some trails this year. Maybe even try a beginner race. I thought about buying a new fork - but I can buy the cx60 for the almost the same price as a fork! Here is a link to this bike:
https://www.blueskycycling.com/produc...Cx-60-Bike.htm
Please note that I would be paying much less than this for the bike! (And yes it's new. And no it is not hot!)

Thank you for your input,
Duane.

Bleh!

Don't let the "Ferrari" label fool you, it's a LOW LEVEL bike for an expensive price. Bottom of the barrel component group, mediocre design, etc etc etc. If I worked at Colnago I'd be ASHAMED to say I had anything to do with it. And the continual price reductions reflect that NO ONE wants to buy one. They can't even give them away.

You'd be better off buying a mid-level bike from Trek or Specialized.

It's actually a semi-real bike. A little digging revealed that this is a Colnago-designed bike manufactured under contract by 'premier Mexican bicycle manufacturer' Biciclo-Turbo. Turbo seems to do a bit of decent carbon road and mountain stuff. It also seems to be spec'd with a mix of real parts.

If you're getting it for half that, it might be worth a chance; but at $1000, it's pushing into the realm of a Giant Yukon FX, which has a proven track record from a known and trusted manufacturer.

At this price I think I'd be hard pressed to find a used bike with "Semi-real" parts.

At $300 I don't see a problem with it. Well, not completely true. I'd remove all of the Ferrari decals and sell that ugly wheelset.

go for it. you will love it. Giant, Trek-all the same-boring. this ferrari floats over everything. Hydraulic discs-great-rock shox-great. I have no trouble with front shox. 3 days intense riding in moab-flawless-can't say this about my buddies bikes (the usual brands). Bought the ferrari almost 2 years ago-new-cheap-haven't ridden my trek since. buy it-you won't regret it.

I thought this was a car....

I couldn't help but I shat a brick when I saw it was made by colnago. As car maker branded bikes are synonymous with walmart quality.... hummer, gmc bikes....

The $4000 MSRP is a total joke (its an aluminium frame). It has LX parts M535 discs and a suntour fork. A $1000 MSRP would be pushing it, for such a low end build.
But for $300 you can't really go wrong.

Now that the obligatory car-branded bike = Walmart quality post has been written, isn't this about when D is supposed to post a picture of the badass Honda downhill bike?

id buy that all day long for 300 bucks. Youre still getting LX shifters, XT RD, shimano hydro brakes, but there are some cheaper parts like the fork. However, most shops would still mark that package at $700+ i think.

Thread resurection

Just bought one of these(they are still knocking around)

Haven't got it yet,as I'm just waiting for my bike scheme certificate to come through, but I'll do a review and add some pictures once I have it

Still pretty good value for an ageing full suspension bike....

Hey Jackie, welcome to the forums. Please understand this thread is from 2011. Also to sell stuff here you do need to be a paying member but your best bet is to look at your local listings or check places and reach out to folks like BikeRecyclery.com and other vintage buyers, sellers and collectors to see if they can help track one down.

Most of these old threads have people on them that are gone or have long forgotten the thread and while great for reading, not so great for responding to because it hasn't been active in quite a while.
