Shim 27.2 to 31.8

Is this possible? Want to put a 27.2 suspension seat post on my son's bike. I think I need a shim in order to get it to work. Nashbar has some, but not in this size. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Possible yes, smart no. You'd have to use multiple shims which is plain foolish.
