my thoughts on the Trek Remedy
 

so today i took a Trek Remedy 9 for a ride...

my buddy landon, who is a far stronger and better rider than i'll ever be, is a huge trek fanboy, and rode a remedy on the moab centurion (over 100 miles of Moab's classic trails ridden in less than 24 hours). he swears by that bike, it's what he rode when we did the five miles of hell.

perhaps i'm not a good enough rider to appreciate the Trek Remedy and love it as much as my friend does.

it is a good solid bicycle. it felt solid under me. trek claims the rear thru axle provides 40% more stiffness than other bikes. i don't know if i could tell the rear was stiffer, but i gotta say, coming down a sketchy trail, with lots of little bumps and some big ones thrown in, the bike handled like a champ. i had total faith in the bike. i also didn't have any problem controlling the bike, i didn't have to fight it, it felt good on tight and twisty singletrack. it floated up rocks nicely and took big hits without batting an eye.

my only real problem with the bike was i didn't think it climbed as well as it should, i noticed some pedal bob when climbing. this could be because i had the rear shock sort of plush, and i didn't use the pro pedal (i'm used to not using the pro pedal from my 5 spot. i also didn't need the pro pedal on the ibis mojo or the rocky mountain slayer).

also, while the bike wasn't uncomfortable at all, it wasn't....fun comfortable. i didn't feel awesome on it.

i would totally recommend the bike. but for me personally, it wasn't as fun to ride as my turner or that rocky mountain slayer.

as always, these are just my crappy opinions, tainted by my incredible lack of skill, a larger lack of knowing what i'm talking about, and a bunch of other factors. and as always, i would like to hear your experiences with the bike.

well that 'hack' seemed to easily figure that the RM Slayer is an awesome bike...he cant be that 'hacked'.. Seems to me he knows a good ride and one that works for him and is decent enough to put his thoughts and opinions down on ...erm...paper. Nice report.
