I have a Norco Rampage that you can check out here https://www.norco.com/bikes/2004bikes/rampage.htm I bought in the middle of summer. Me and some friend messed around with it and its now a single speed. It has a BMX casette and an extra large BMX chain. I have alex rims in the front and in the back and the back doesn't stay true that much, since I wasnt too nice with it. So I'm going to need to change it soon. I was wondering if getting a 24" rims in the back would be better or worst for street and DH. I think its better for street and not so good for DH but I'm not so sure about that. And what kind of rims should I get for DH that would work pretty nicely and stay true enough so that I don't have to fix them everytime I come back from a day ride.

a 24" rear wheel will give your bike a better stance for downhill. sun makes the rhynolite in 24". i know a few folks that run a 24" on slalom/downhill/mountain cross bikes... boing boing boing.
maybe if your wheel isn't staying in true you should build one with a higher number of spokes, or straight 14 gauge spokes. or get better. or practice proper grammar... or a dumptruck.

oh, but that 24" rear is going to chopper out your bike more, just like putting on a fork that is way too big for the frame geometry. that will be great for dh stuff, but will handle like crap for street stuff if it's too chopped. how much travel is your fork? what is your headtube angle? what is your favorite flavor of pie?

Try a smaller tire rear. I like smaller rear rubber. 1.95 R -2.10 F.

i just looked up your frame's head tube angle. it's 67.2 and a 24 inch rear would slack it out waaay too much. just get a beefier 26 rear built. the sun ditchwitch is super strong and wide. maybe you should ask in the mountain bike forum for more rim reccommendations...

Don't get the ditch witch...its crap. I can taco that rim in one run down a mountain. For the truely set of forget try the doublewide, trailpimps or mavic 321d (whatever they call them)
Ditch witch is the ryno lite little brother (oem version with some weakness), not nearly strong enough for really aggresive riding. Also consider going to 36 hole. 33% increase in strength.

I dont get it...why does everybody think a 24'' is so good for DH. It makes it harder to roll stuff, and it always gets stuck.

Its is true. I like it for freeriding. Wheelies drop are easier and they are stronger, but for getting p and over stuff you need to carry a lot of speed. Would hate to race onit.

for rim suggestion, i'd suggest getting sun's intense mag30s.
