I have a Specialized hardrock xc i can do a whellie but i cant to a catwalk for more than 4 pedals at the most. Any tips?

People still try to do catwalks? Wow...sorry can't really help as I don't think I have tried one of those since I had a banana seat bike when I was 7 ;) :D

What shuttle serviced mountains are in Florida? And how on earth do you ride them on a hardrock?

They are kind of the same thing. Just one is standing and the other is seated. I just haven't heard the term catwalk since I was really young.

i go to New Hampshire alot. and my hardrock holds up fine. It would be more comphy if i had a full suspension bike, but im not made of money.

Ahhh.. I see. That's quite a commute. Be careful on landings with that bike though, make sure they are smooth. I have a friend who destroyed an '05 Hardrock sport on jumps.

i already screwed up a rental hardrock. i took a sharp turn near a ledge hit a rock flipped over rolled about 50 feet down the moutain and the bike was in perfect condition when i finally got to it.

BALANCE is the key
to stop from falling forward or backwards....the breaks and switching your body weight forwad or backward. To prevent falling sideways, shift your bike sideways. like you'll be standing up and instead of having your bike in front of you shift it a bit to the side like when you are standing up on your pedals to gain speed. you do the same thing but slower when you are doing a cawalk. try it!!

Because Im just a collegiate A rider, and Im here to tell you its IMPOSSIBLE to compete at the pro level on that bike....just so ya know.

dude lay off him a bit, hes a bit of an @ss and probably isnt a real hardcore DHer, but its no big deal, he never said he was a pro, its just his name on a forum

and the other thing, jsut cause he rides a hardrock doesnt make him a bad biker, jsut because he doesnt fit the mold of a specific type of rider doesnt mean the forum needs to shun him, biking elitism should be worked against, not for

you ride collegiate A level, thats pretty awesome, ive always been curious about collegiate racing. whereabouts you go to school and whats the racing like, how competitive comapred, to pro, is collegiate riding?

I go to East Tn State University. Collegiate A is probably about even to Expert in regular Norba sanctioned races, which is what class I race DH when Im not doing collegiates. That said though, some collegiate guys are pros and race the A class because there is no class higher. And it goes the same for XC stuff too. My school has a pretty good team when it comes to gravity MTB. I really like going here and Id recommend the school to anyone who likes to ride. We have a DH and MTX course ON CAMPUS!

I wasnt saying he was a bad biker, I just get tired of running into e-bikers that claim to be pros but have actually never competed a day in their life. He may be Nico Vuilloz for all I know, but even Nico couldnt win a race on a hard rock. Not that the bike is bad, it just simply is not designed for DH race. Just like a Harley Davidson couldnt win a Motocross.

You're not terribly far from me, then... I had no idea that ETSU even gave two flips about mountain biking. The great thing about East TN overall is the fact that there are mountains galore, plus if you really want you can go over into NC and ride their trails as well. Alas, I have no car so I don't get a chance to do such but a lot of the guys at the LBS I frequent ride in various places around east TN and have had generally good things to say about such places. Haw Ridge is about the extent of my experience at the moment.
