Issues with new 1x9 setup

Chain keeps popping off now that I've removed the front derailleur. Any ideas? Pull a link or two out of the chain?

run chain as tight as you can.

use a bash ring on the outside.

and something like a jump stop, or something to keep it on on the inside.

or something like an mrp 1x or e.13 xcx guide without a bashring.

if possible, run an unramped singlespeed or DH ring.

Scrub has it covered. Definitely shorten the chain if coming from a 3x9 setup. Check out BBGbashguard.com for a cheap, durable solution - unless you're going to go no bash with a mrp 1.x, e 13 or Paul chain keeper. A jumpstop or third eye chain watcher for the inside, if going the bashguard route. You really shouldn't need to swap the middle ring for a SS specific ring - I would run the current ring until it's worn out. With the changes mentioned above, the SS ring won't be necessary.
