just want some thoughts
I just bought a specialized FSR for a really good price. I've been wanting a dual suspension bike for awhile now i got one :). well i have a 09 RockHopper and i want to know if i can just change over the componets from my rockhopper to the FSR? I know there different but if i can i want to. Im just talking about the brakes, handle bar and levers.
thanks |
No, it will not be an issue to switch your brakes, brake levers, and handle bars. You may need a new stem if the bar sizes are different.
thanks thats all i wanted to know
you also may need adapters for the brake calipers if the rotors are different sizes.
Or different adapters if one frame/fork is IS mount and the other is Post-mount (newer forks and some frames are post-mount, a 2009 rockhopper is probably IS for the frame but the fork could be either).
it didnt work sadly, so im just going to buy new levers, put on some disk brakes and whatever else i need..
oh and gears. does the wheel matter at all if i can put on disk brakes? can you name some brands i should look into. |
Why exactly did it not work?
the fsr fork had two holes for the v-brakes to mount on to, my rockhoppers fork was a different style.
