looking for a new hub

im doing DH on a norco manik, i still have the original hubs, they're both cracked. I pushed up the fork to 8" so i need a hub mostly for my front tire with the (8" triple drop off 3)
i wont spend more than 100$ for my front
ps: doesnt need to be super light

BTW...thats just a standard QR...

Why not an LX hub mounted to a ryno lite. Should come in under 100$

BTW you do know that fork isn't 8"...it is 6ish...unless you mean you bumped THAT fork up?

For $20 more he can get XT http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/120...Rims---14G.htm
Of course he didn't mention what brake system he has but oh well.

wow Rayin your really puching those wheelsets eh? heh just playing, how exactly do you crack a hub?

Maelstrom 11-01-04 11:00 PM

Not really hard. Crap hubs are easy to crack...

DjRider04 11-02-04 06:01 AM

Have a whiteindustries hub on my Bullit....thing is still mint after a year+, silent too. CK makes nice hubs, or Hadley.

You might want to try the hope xc or the hope bulb even more so. If you ever need a 20mm through axel you can convert the bulb hub..

Maelstrom 11-02-04 12:41 PM

For 100$?...where is that deal?

crgowo 11-02-04 12:44 PM

we are talking about hubs only right?

This is the bike he has
http://www.norco.com/bikes/2004bikes/manik.htm
hope it helps you all to figure out whats wrong. He pushed up the for from 6" and a bit to 8" and doing some DH he cracked it... I went with him :)

SingleSDH 11-03-04 05:34 PM

k dudes im the fork is 6"travel, i know all that, but I set the hight at 8" and I cracked the tiny front hub, and my back hub. I really need the front one

less than 100$ for hub only!!

the bigger, the tuffer, the better, its for DH so i dont care about the weight + that fork weighs 1 tone

thanks

He's cdn, I'm guessing, meaning that the prices have to be about 70 USD or something. 1 CDN = 81 cents US I think.

If you need a 20mm hub, go with the Marzocchi one. There is absoluetly NO REASON to pay anything more for a simple milled out piece of metal. For a rear, standard axle. XT will last Hella longer than just about anything and is light to boot. But if you want beefy. Go with a Woodman rear hub. Those are the tits.

tha_nic 11-04-04 10:11 AM

hahaha its not that expensive...!!
