No, it's definitely not a downhill bike.

what is it? what kind of mountain bike is it?

trevanye, to answer your question that bike is made for flat terrain (mild/easy trails) or a nice commuter bike to & from work. Unfortunately, that bike will fall apart on a downhill trail. I hope that does not sound mean, I'm just being honest. If your looking to start downhill mountain biking, you could start with: http://www.mtbr.com/cat/bikes/freeri...6_1543crx.aspx and build the bike from to your liking from there. Those bikes are relatively cheap these days (you can find one under $500usd) and some are already modified for downhill.

Nine times out of ten, if you have to ask if it's a DH bike, it's not. That is not a DH bike ten times over. It looks like a college commuter you get because you know it's going to get stolen eventually.

no! in these country these bikes are very very expensive. its more than 400 dollars.i bought that 15 years ago and thats the price.but in the phillippines, i only see few who have full suspension bike's.

No, you should be able to ride it on some simple trails but nothing too rough or steep, it wouldn't be a good idea to ride it too fast and don't take any jumps on it unless you want to end up in hospital.
I'd only ride that bike on a dirt road.

That bike probably has or had a sticker on it like this.

Local info for you: http://www.pinoymtbiker.org/forum/

hahaha.i dont have a sticker like that.dont be mean to my bike.it didn't do anything to you.it might hurt you....

I have a feeling you don't really need a downhill bike. Probably more of a Trail or All-Mountain kinda rig. DH bikes can be pretty dang heavy if you're thinking of riding the bike uphill in addition to downhill.

But, if your budget is $400 USD I wouldn't even get full suspension if I were you.
