Looks pretty much stock. I'd jot down the date codes off the derailers and cranks and compare to the charts found here.

yes it is stock. Do you think it is still worth shipping it? from mississippi to miami? I am a novice rider. I have this for my current ride. I love it and i have no problems with it yet. need help weighing the pros and cons.\

BTW i am not paying for this bike. it is just sitting in the garage of my folks.

Is it worth shipping? Hmmm. I don't think so. If Miami Craigslist is anything like the one around here it's not too tough to find an early 90s MTB for the cost of shipping the Hardrock (probably around $50)

If the folks are gonna visit and don't mind throwing the Hardrock in the trunk, then that would be sweet.

The one in the first photo might be closer to a 1991, based on the type of shift pods it has (and btw they tend to gum up with age, so some flushing & relubrication would be wise). Shipping bikes can get expensive if they end up "Oversize 3" in UPS's dimensional-weight scheme, so I'd try to find something locally first.

Thanks for all your replies. Do you think the hardrock is better than my current ride?
