Low Cost single speed 29er

Are these even worth considering?

want a ss disc rig for kicking around... is bikesdirect worth it? Not sure I could build one myself for less than this...

love any thoughts, thanks!

Those are good bikes for the money. I have the SE Stout. I bought at a LBS, but BD sells them also. Favorite bike ever!

Trek/Fisher Marlin SS. But I read somewhere or other that the fork isn't the best and the G2 geometry means it's hard to replace.
I was thinking about getting one myself but the budget just shrank.

Topic has been discussed to death here and mtbr. General consensus = you get what you pay for. decent frames whith cheap components. Lots of satisfied owners; but you may need to check assembly on some components and wheels may go out of true.

also its a well kept secret that riding rigid SS 29ers is the best cycling to be had on the trails..

monocog and se stout are fine bikes and ready to run right outta the box and can be had for sensible $$.. as with any bike the saddle and pedals might need adjusting to what best suits you, but thats the same with every bike either $ or $$$$...
